Neil Trusso serves as Military Outreach & Veteran Support Specialist at Tree House Recovery. As an original team member of our Costa Mesa, California location, Neil helped develop the physical and team-based elements of our program’s unique Action-Based Induction Therapy (ABIT) modality. He also played a key role in the implementation of purpose-built modalities, including Fitness-Based Experiential Therapy (FBET) and yoga-based programming, which are designed to support physical recovery and emotional regulation during and following addiction treatment.
From 2013 to 2023, he served as Director of Physical Empowerment, guiding clients through structured routines that fortify mental resilience and strengthen team functioning. His approach draws on his background as a U.S. Navy SEAL, former college athlete, and long-time youth sports coach.
Early in 2024, Neil transitioned into his current role to support veterans, active-duty service members, and military families in accessing addiction treatment and family resources across all Tree House Recovery US-based locations. His experience as a SEAL Team member, educator, coach, and father helps him connect with military members, communities, and families, and understand the unique challenges they face during and after service.
