Tree House Recovery’s innovative approach to addiction treatment focuses on the mind/body connection to build sustainable, healthy lives. We believe in a wholeness and wellness focus rather than a bandaid approach to treating addiction. Our eight interconnected modalities work together to treat you as a complete person. The cumulative result is a highly effective program focused on healing you on an individual level. At Tree House, abstinence is simply a jumping-off point. In order to sustain change, you must create a life that you are excited to lead. We guide our clients to these lives. The Tree House team is a highly collaborative unit that works together to offer each client the most effective care available.
Justin McMillen, Founder & CEO, explains the basis of Tree House Recovery’s unique approach to addiction treatment.
Each person has many unique experiences and circumstances that lead to addiction. At Tree House Recovery, we offer eight custom modalities that help you truly understand yourself. You’ll work closely with your therapy team to rebuild a life that helps you move past your comfort zone so you can gain confidence, strength in a safe and supportive environment.
Your personalized treatment includes fitness therapy, one-on-one, and group talk therapy, writing therapy, and EP yoga therapy. You will get to participate in our full curriculum that is designed to adapt to your specific needs, helping you build the strongest foundation possible. Because the Tree House program is truly holistic, you will be given diverse therapeutic activities, so you can find the approach that helps you the most. Not only can you then focus on getting well during treatment, but modalities are set up to give you the life skills and peer connections so you can turn them into healthy habits for lifelong success. Incorporating your strengths, talents, or experience with addiction, Tree House Recovery will work alongside you to create a path to recovery that is
yours. You are not just another client here– you are a person with valuable contributions to make to our community and the world. It is our mission to help you uncover and become the best person you can be.
We aim for everyone who enrolls in our programs to achieve recovery for life. Once you come to the program, you become part of the family. We believe that in order to stay well, you have to stay connected with your peers and continue to grow. We want your healing experience to continue, long after you graduate. Unfortunately, the status quo of recovery programs is to provide temporary relief from a permanent problem. Traditional rehab focuses on symptoms instead of the root causes of addiction. We believe that addiction is a disease that can be brought into remission– and in order to keep it in remission, you must live a life of empowerment and health. We know that you are capable of keep addiction in check with the right tools, techniques, and lifestyle. Our duty is to provide you with the skills to stay sober, happy, and live a life of potential.
Tree House provides sustainable health by showing you everything you will need to know about addiction. Our addiction education component is a counselor level education that will help you understand how addiction works in your brain, in your body and in the social aspects of life. With this knowledge at your side, you will be able to spot old addictive thoughts and behaviors and learn how to navigate through them safely. Our other modalities are made to translate into everyday life so that you can take our life skills with you when you graduate — journaling, exercise and meditation and staying connected with your treatment peers are easy lifelong habits that will keep you on your path of empowerment in recovery.
Our approach is truly holistic. It revolves around working to heal the whole person, not just the surface level symptoms of addiction. By “holistic,” we mean that we are a whole made up of many interconnected parts. Drug abuse and alcohol abuse are symptoms related to a host of health concerns, both mental and physical. Each of your mind, body, and spirit must be healed before the whole can be well. At Tree House Recovery, we believe that you can’t just treat the mind–I need to treat the mind, body, and spirit to live a happy, successful free of addiction.
There is nothing stronger than the bond between human beings. For thousands of years, humans survived by relying on each other for food, shelter, or resources — we hunted, lived, and worked closely with each other. The industrial revolution was the first time in human history that it was possible to rely on technology instead of our community to survive.
Humans are meant to bond with each other, and if they feel like they can’t, they will bond with something else like drugs or alcohol. Unfortunately, as the bond grows stronger, so does loneliness and isolation. Healing addiction is a matter of helping people find ways to live how humanity was meant to — actively and closely with each other. The men in our program:
Our goal is to take the struggle of getting sober and use it to bond people together. In that struggle, there emerges a camaraderie made of trust, vulnerability, success, and support that feels like home. Once you have experienced what this bond feels like, you’re going to make more when you leave.
